RIA 1:Dialogue between Leibniz Lab ‘Systemic Sustainability and societal actors

Aim and approach

The overarching research & innovation area aims to establish, implement and reflect on the dialogue between the Leibniz Lab ‘Systemic Sustainability’ and societal actors in the medium to long term. For science, this will systematically recognise the facets and re-relevance of the area of action and conflict in society, and knowledge needs from society can be taken up in research. For societal actors, holistic access to the research results and their scope is created and their usability in decision-making situations is increased.

The spectrum of actors addressed from politics and administration, business and civil society ranges along the entire value chain from international organisations and government departments in the fields of environmental, biodiversity and climate protection as well as agriculture and food, to nature conservation associations, agriculture, business, consumers and consumer advice, to selected agricultural and coastal fishing companies and land users.

The programme explicitly looks at overarching interrelationships from the local-regional to the international level and contributes to networking between the actors. This exchange opens up new perspectives on the legitimisation, appreciation and adaptation of knowledge across different levels.
