Accessibility Statement
The Leibniz Lab 'Systemic Sustainability' at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development endeavours to make its websites and mobile applications accessible to all in accordance with the Sächsisches Inklusionsgesetz (SächsInklusG), the Barrierefreie-Websites-Gesetz (BfWebG) as well as the Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV 2.0). The BfWebG is supplemented by the Barrierefreie-Websites-Verordnung (BfWebVO). These laws are in accordance with the EU Web Accessibility Directive 2016/2102.

Degree of accessibility
The degree of accessibility is oriented on the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformance level AA and the European standard EN 301 549, version 3.2.1. For PDF documents, we observe the international standard PDF/UA-1.
Our websites/mobile applications are only partially accessible according to the above guidelines.
Non-accessible content
- PDF documents
- For spam prevention, we use an invisible form field (so-called honeypot).
This field is not relevant for users or assistive technologies and does not impair the usability of the site. - Videos without subtitles.
- In some areas of our website, the color contrast between text and background may not meet the recommended guidelines.
This can reduce readability for people with visual impairments. We are working to gradually improve these contrasts. - Our website uses the UIkit 3 framework for slider elements. Certain ARIA attributes (e.g. role, aria-label, tabindex)
are automatically generated by the framework. These settings can only be customized to a limited extent.
As a result, individual testing tools may report possible deviations from the WCAG recommendations.
We have verified that the slider content remains accessible and usable (e.g. keyboard navigation, screen reader output).
However, if you encounter any problems during use, please let us know so that we can work together to find a solution.
Lack of accessibility due to disproportionate burden
For the following content, there is currently a disproportionate burden pursuant to Section 2(3) of the BfWebG in conjunction with Directive (EU) 2016/2102, Article 5 and Recital 39:
- file downloads published before 23 Sept 2018 and which are not required for active administrative procedures (see Section 9 of the Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz);
- audio/video clips published before 23 Sept 2020;
- maps, for which essential information is offered in an accessible alternative.
Technical Specifications
The accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination
of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript

Enforcement procedure
You have made a query regarding the accessibility of our websites and mobile applications using the above contact. If no satisfactory solution is achieved within a reasonable period of time (usually four weeks), you can contact the office of the State Commissioner for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities (Enforcement Office) at the Saxon State Chancellery, which is responsible for the relevant enforcement procedure. When disputes arise between public bodies in Saxony and users of websites or mobile applications, the Enforcement Office strives to find an amicable solution without recourse to the courts. This arbitration procedure is free of charge and participants do not need to appoint legal counsel.
